Designated Employer Training

This course will give you the tools to train Designated Employer Representatives (DERs) in the Department of Transportation’s (D.O.T.) regulations for drug and alcohol testing. This training will help employer and trainers:

• Ensure full compliance with D.O.T.-mandated drug and alcohol testing processes, rules and regulations.
• Meet industry standards of professionalism, accountability, and ethical behavior.
• Maintain donor confidentiality.
• Understand the DER’s role and responsibilities in the drug testing process in order to maximize its efficiency.
• Learn more about the DER’s relationship with others in the testing process, including C/TPAs, collectors, MROs, EAPs, laboratory personnel, and SAPs.
• Better serve employees by being knowledgeable about the entire drug and alcohol testing process.
• Learn the differences in testing procedures for each transportation mode.

Collector Training

This program provides collection personnel with the training to become proficient in specimen collection for drug testing under D.O.T. regulations. The program ensures that specimen collections:

• Are performed in a professional and consistent manner.
• Maintain donor confidentiality as well as the security and integrity of the specimen.
• Adhere to strict standards in areas such as regulatory compliance, company service standards, specimen handling, operational practices, business ethics, and facility equipment.

D.O.T. Recertification

This program provides experienced collection personnel with the training and resources needed to:
• Adhere to D.O.T. requirements of personnel refresher training and refresher proficiency demonstrations.
• Ensure that collectors are fully compliant with federal regulations and industry standards.
• Perform collections to the satisfaction of the most recent regulations in a consistent manner.
• Maintain donor confidentiality as well as the security and integrity of the specimen.
